Once upon a time, in a little town unnamed,
Little miss Karisha decided to play a very little game.
She decided it’d begin with a long, long stroll,
And she started out long before the rising sun could take its toll.
She first passed through a market yard, all sunny and bright,
She found herself stopping to enjoy smells, sounds, colours and sights.
The market blended into a park at its end,
A playground in the middle, with a yard and a pen, Past the playground, by the edge of a stream, Stood a giant oak tree - what better place for a dream.
She sat herself down, with a huff and a sigh,
While staring up at fluffy clouds and they scatted on by.
Before she knew it, she was fast asleep,
Not a sound disturbed her slumber, not one, not a peep.
Her subconscious treated her to a splendid sight,
Not one nightmare or thing, that went “bump” in the night.
She awoke with a start, to a familiar little patter,
Like the sound of children’s laugher only she knew a whole lot better.
The sky was dark as it started to rain,
The great falling drops causing her much joy, not pain.
With a skip and a hop she decided it was getting late,
The rest of her game would just have to wait.
She started for home, through the rain she got soaked,
Taking her time, as she walked away from that great big oak.
As she enjoyed the falling rain, she thought back on her day,
Everything that happened today made it pretty great..with a smile, she had to say.
