It was a quarter past two, on an average saturday night,
When I heard a sound that bugged me most definitely outright.
It was a gentle buzz, almost too soft to hear,
It started around my feet and ended up near my ear.
There were a bunch of them, of that I was certain,
They seemed to have drifted right through my curtains!
I swatted them away at first, was sure they'd give up,
But they just kept coming back, god they wouldn't stop.
I went to my room to find some relief,
The just kept following me..oh my! good grief!
Enough was enough, the itches and the bites,
A genius plan was hatched to destroy them mid-flight.
I lit up a coil, foul smoke filled the air,
The buzzing slowed down for a moment..but it was still there.
I got out a can of aerosol..that would work, I thought,
They would suffer the consequences of spoiling my time of rot.
I doused them all, with poison afresh,
But they still would not die..these mongers of flesh.
I sat down, resigned and defeated with a sigh,
I'd just have to live with them and kiss my peace goodbye.
But all clouds have a silver lining - someting schweet caught my eye,
I curled up with laughter as I saw them get stuck in my leg hair and die.
