I stepped off the side and slid below,
the waves and currents around me did flow.
It did not seem strange how I could breathe,
or how I could see through the murk of the deep.
Effortlessly I swam, without sense of direction,
for up was now down and deserved so little attention.
The streaming moonlight was illumination enough,
the water was wonderful both smooth and rough.
I felt a longing, a drawing, a pull, a call
my heart responded gladly with no thought at all.
Lo I beheld, a sight too glorious to describe,
to it all forms of beauty and wonder shall I ascribe.
Under the ocean, stood a living tree thriving,
and thus began my life of deep tree diving.
