Okay so it was Friday night and I found myself bored and unoccupied. No interstellar travel for me, parents sorta "grounded" me. So i scratched the speeder, big deal, wasn't even my fault. Damned Terckrons, you'd think for a species with four eyes they'd at least be more aware of their surroundings. Sigh anyway I was really bummed, there's this awesome concert on the other side of the Krebs Nebula but none of my friends wanted to go and having my intergalactic license suspended didn't exactly help my case.
Axl's parents just got him a brand new cruiser (his dad managed to con some Jargor-6s into buying this new mini fusion reactor, big commission..go figure) and being the showoff he naturally is, he wanted to take a drive. Under normal circumstances I would never agree, but it seemed a tad bit sad to be spending the night alone with my PSNG (neo-gen)
So we picked up the girls and after a long debate we decided to drop by Rocco's. It's this awesome jazz bar on Saturn's 9th moon, and if you time your visit just right you'd get an awesome view of Saturn rising. Traffic was light, so Axl, that numbnut decided to push the throttle, Lana and Sam were enjoying themselves, their laughter just spurred him on. Don't get me wrong, I love speed just as much as your next spaceman, but I just had a feeling something was waiting to happen.
Don't you just hate it when your bad feelings turn out to be correct, sigh I certainly do. We were cruising just under light speed, when I spotted the hole. (Just fyi, the phenomena of wormholes hasn't yet been explained, we've sent probes into them, but as far as I know, we still know nothing. So see these holes open up randomly across the galaxy. And long story short you wouldn't wanna get trapped in one)
Usually at high speeds the cruiser sets itself to auto pilot, the ship's OBC (on-board computer keeps an eye out for holes and avoids them) but our friendly neighborhood idiot was flying manually (showboating again..damn you Axl) and didn't notice the rift in time, in time. So here we are, trapped in the pull of a wormhole, I see a light at the end of the tunnel, but it could just be my imagination, oh hell whatever happens at least I can't complain I had a boring weekend...
..TBC
