paper aeroplanes.

Warm underneath the sky,
We laughed at passers by,
Who viewed the world through half closed eyes.
Up in the atmosphere,
Back then it seemed so clear,
These moments were all that we had.
Three dozen summer nights,
Can’t dream to help describe,
The joy, the hope, at your caress.
And how the morning dew,
It gave its all for you,
In every drop was thought defined.
I wish that I could make you see,
The shadows swirl so surely.
While out in victory so bright,
The world sang it for you alone.
Now then be calm my dear,
Your fears, they’ll disappear,
Bathed in the light of a million suns.
See how the teardrops fly,
They don’t even say goodbye.
As if we’d miss them once they leave.
The crash of a lightning bolt,
The sound of a song unwrote,
Each echo back through time for you.
Because you are the melody,
You make it real for me,
Real substance through the smoke and ash.
I wish that I could make you feel,
The hope of rivers flowing.
So then you’d look up and you’d see,
Life and love are glowing.

*for twinkletoes.
